James L. Kuber Law Enforcement Training Center at Marian University

The James L. Kuber Law Enforcement Training Center is the training facility for the criminal justice students of Marian University. Aside from Marian students however, police and corrections agencies throughout Wisconsin as well as students of other criminal justice programs, are also served by the facility. It provides the internship and field experience opportunities in varied settings such as the police and sheriff’s departments, county circuit court, county jail and the county state attorney’s office.

The School of Criminal Justice of Marian University has created recent initiatives to make its programs responsive to the current requirements in the field of criminal justice. One of these is having a dean’s Advisory Council made up of leaders in the field. This council takes charge of developing new programs and continuously updating existing undergraduate and graduate programs. Another is the launching of the Homeland Security Leadership Certificate Program specifically designed for criminal justice professionals seeking to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge. Cohort programs are also offered in West Allis, Appleton and Fond du Lac.

The Master of Science Leadership with concentration on Criminal Justice Administration allows students to charter their own course towards achieving professional and educational growth. The program can be completed within 12 months by finishing 6 undergraduate courses for a total of 18 credits. Students who share common interest and passion for the field can become members of the Criminal Justice Club. This club is devoted to furthering professionalism in the field of criminal justice. All staff, faculty and students of the Marian University are welcome to join this student organization. The university’s Criminal Justice Summer Camp provide opportunities for experiential learning that will involve activities such as eye-witness testimony, simulated teen court, crime scene investigation and demonstration by K-9 unit. The James L. Kuber Law Enforcement Training Center is located on the Southern part of Fond du Lac in Hamilton Road in the Town of Byron.
