Marian University
Sponsored and staffed by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes, Marian University was established as the Marian College in 1936. It started with eight faculty members and 42 students. It moved from its original location during the mid-1960’s to its present site. Marian University occupies a 104-acre campus in a residential area in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It address is 45. S. National Avenue, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It also maintains a training facility called the James L. Kuber Law Enforcement Training Center which is situated in Town of Byron, also in Fond du Lac.
The university’s current enrollment of 3,000 students includes 1,400 traditional day students while the rest are enrolled in various adult accelerated evening/weekend undergraduate programs as well as graduate programs offered through the university’s outreach locations in Wisconsin. The average class size is 15 while the student/faculty ration is 12:1.
An innovative liberal arts education is offered by Marian University’s undergraduate programs in such fields as Accounting, Administration of Justice, Arts, Biology, Communication, Computer Science, Education, Business, Music, Sports and Recreation Management and many more. Graduate programs are also offered in Teacher Education, Nursing, Organizational Leadership and Quality, Doctoral Studies (PhD), Grief and Bereavement and Criminal Justice Leadership. Adult Accelerated Programs are offered in Criminal Justice, Human Resource Management, RN to BSN or MSN, Organizational Communication and Radiologic Technology, among others.
Some of the facilities found in the campus are the Cardinal Meyer Library, the Dorcas Chapel, the Harnung Student Center, the Marian Townhouse Village, the Marian Courtyards and the Stayer Center for Technology and Executive learning. Full-time tuition cost $ 20,550.00 per year while part-time students pay from $ 315.00 to $ 500.00 per credit.
